Samsung Freeform with metroPCS

Metro PCS is a mobile phone service provider. Although it is not known widely, It is the 5th largest mobile telecommunications network in the US. According to their offical web site; As of September 30, 2010 MetroPCS has approximately 7.9 million subscribers. Company uses fixed rate - no contract, unlimited policy for all of their customers and uses code division multiple access (CDMA) tech.

Unlike GSM, CDMA technology doesn`t use subscriber identity module (SIM) card. So you can`t use your CDMA phone with different service providers. I have used Metro PCS with Samsung Freeform CDMA phone for 3 months. First of all if you are live in urban area in the U.S. this is a good choice for you. But when you are in travel or out of town, most probably your phone will be useless. Because CDMA has not covered all areas yet.

The great advantage about MetroPCS is there is no contract. You pay a flat rate each month, and get unlimited talk time and unlimited international call to over 1,000 destinations in 100 countries. Also it has lots of good services. When $50 unlimited plan is selected, you can reach these absolutely free:

MetroWeb: MetroPCS's mobile web (MetroWEB currently does not support Flash)
Metro411: MetroPCS's Premium Directory Assistance.
@Metro: MetroPCS's mobile store for ringtones, games, wallpaper, and apps.
MetroStudio: MetroPCS's @Metro replacement on newer phones. Optimized for use on the Samsung Craft. It allows users to purchase and download full music tracks, stream on demand video, buy games and apps.
MetroNavigator: MetroPCS's GPS service (absoulety perfect)
Screen-it: Manage your calls better by seeing the caller’s name before you answer, even if it is not stored in your phone’s personal contact list.
GroupLINE: MetroPCS's service that allows multiple phones to share the same number. When the number is called, all phones ring simultaneously until the call is answered on a phone or is sent to voicemail.
myMetroMail: MetroPCS's email service. ##########@mymetropcs.com It is powered by Windows Live Mail.
mail@Metro: MetroPCS's email client
MyExtras: A free service offered by MetroPCS that delivers rich and interactive text messages to subscribers who have registered the app.
Loopt® GPS Friend Finder: Find your friends (using real-time maps) and share what’s up on the go.
